Helping to improve the lives of animals in our community through spay and neuter, education, and connecting pets and peopleOur January 2026 spay and neuter clinic has been cancelled due to weather

About Us

The Humane Society of Sevier County is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to protecting the animals in our community through education and spaying and neutering.HSSC was founded in 1997 by Juannelle and Maxie Gage of De Queen. They both served in various positions in the organization and donated their time and resources to making Sevier County a safer place for animals. We partner with the Ozark Mountain Mobile Spay and Neuter vet team and hold 4 low cosy spay/neuter clinics every year. The city of De Queen and Sevier County gift us money every year so we can offer even bigger discounts to the community

2026 Fundraisers and Events

Welcome to the 2026 monthly challenge! We are asking 2,000 of our facebook followers to donate $1 monthly via cashapp for the entire year. Every month that we reach $2,000 in donations, we will randomly choose 2 donors to win a $50 gift card from a local business. The donations received during this challenge will go toward improvements to our spay and neuter building. We will post monthly updates on our facebook page.

Featured Pet:
Charlie

Back in October, we were asked to help with a stray dog that was lying in a ditch unable to move his back legs. Luckily nothing was broken! He was just malnourished, full of intestinal worms, and heart worm positive. Poor Charlie just didn't have the strength to stand up. After almost 2 weeks with his foster family, he was finally able to stand and take some steps. Now is he running everywhere. Charlie has been treated for intestinal worms and is on heart worm medication/preventative. He was neutered at our December low cost clinic. He has put on over 10 pounds and is slowly gaining his weight back. Charlie is a country boy and is not sure what to do on a leash just yet. He loves to lay on the porch, run with his foster dog sisters, and eat. Charlie is now ready for his forever home. We would prefer for him to go to a home with a fenced yard. Charlie loves to have his belly rubbed and his chin scratched. He would thrive in a home where someone could just pet his head all day and give him a ton of attention. HSSC will provide enough heart worm meds to last until his next HW testing in October. We will provide his medicals and a bag of his high protein/high fat food. Charlie is a gentle teddy bear and he never stops wagging his tail. Please message HSSC on facebook if you would like to make Charlie a member of your family.
